Virgin Records UK is the UK's leading music label and is always actively seeking new and inventive ways in which to promote its roster of artists.

IDIL assisted Virgin with their promotional requirements by deploying a number of its applications, which further increased its value to its customer base.

IDIL developed its ground breaking CDRD product in order to work on promotions with labels like Virgin. The system has been deployed to work on Virgin campaigns with a number of its key artists including Embrace's album 'If You've Never Been' released in September 2001 and UB40's new album 'Cover Up' released in October 2001.

Cover UpThe deployment was an intrinsic part of the campaigns, which included both email and SMS push to contact the artists' entire fan bases.

The CDRD product is deployed to allow an artist the maximum amount of exposure whilst offering it's fans an opportunity to consume exclusive material.

Virgin chat
IDIL have been retained to develop an integrated chat service for Virgin, for deployment on some of their artist websites. It was important for Virgin that the Chat implementation was accesible to the largest number of fans possible. IDIL researched and deployed the most suitable chat software that met Virgin's this requirement together with levels of control, moderation and flexibility. The system is due for release in November 2001.

On 5 November 2001 Universal released Ocean Colour Scene's greatest hits album "Songs for the Front Row".

Ocean Colour SceneIDIL implemented CDRD as an integral element of the album's marketing, which included radio, press and TV advertising campaigns. IDIL also designed the microsite which housed the application.

Prior to the album's release fans were invited to register on the Songs for the Front Row microsite and to pre-order the album.

Immediately following the release of the album, fans were invited to access exclusive downloads and webcast material. Access to this material was only granted to those fans who had been verified, using IDIL's CDRD software application, as having a copy of the new album.

Simply Red had a requirement to retail their own products online. IDIL were tasked with delivering a secure global shop solution that could be seamlessly merged with their existing simplyred.com website. This included sourcing the necessary hardware and integrating the required software application.

In addition to ease of use and look and feel consistency with the existing website, IDIL met the client's key requirement for the shop's customers to experience an ordering process which was speedy and secure.

Much weight was given to the back end systems and to their interface; IDIL's painless maintenance functionality allows the client to easily update the product range and prices of the shop as well as monitoring sales and levels of stock, among other key business indicators, through the extensive reporting utility.

Sanctuary Music Group

The Sanctuary Group PLC is a diversified media group specialising in the ownership and commercial exploitation of IPR within the field of entertainment.

IDIL have been instrumental in helping Sanctuary achieve their online goals. Asked by Sanctuary to provide them with a backend integration for the development of the Sanctuary music group website www.sanctuarygroup.com

Sanctuary Home PageIt was vital to the client that the site was able to fully communicate Sanctuary's diverse business activities. And again it was important that the site was not only a robust solution but it was also easily updateable.

Complementing the website implementation Sanctuary asked IDIL to help them with the provision of an ecommerce application that helped increase sales of its merchandise via the web.

As well as the standard shop tools it was important that the offering had a non-technical interface to increase the ease of access through a clear and simple web interface.

Worldpop Limited Group is a content enabled multi-platform one-to-one marketing company. The company generates high quality music and entertainment content in order to target and interact with the 12-24 year old age group through its website Worldpop.com. The Worldpop site, one of the top ten most visited UK entertainment sites currently attracts between 9 and 11 million page impressions every month.

Worldpop Home PageBased on their already premier database of this target group Worldpop provides cross-media research and marketing services to the music and entertainment and lifestyle industries.

IDIL people were involved on the initial build of the website supplying backend architecture solutions. It was vital to Worldpop that the site was not only robust and secure but that it was scalable and easy to update.

IDIL have the sole technical responsibility for the day-to-day management and maintenance of the entire Worldpop infrastructure supplying seven day around the clock support.

Umbro.com

Umbro has time only for one game - football. This deeply rooted passion for the beautiful game drives Umbro to understand the sport and the player’s needs better than anyone else. The Umbro website is a pioneer site using the latest technologies to distribute its merchandise.

Umbro ShopIDIL’s first involvement with Umbro.com and their US site Unite Soccer Leagues (USLSoccer.com) was in providing e-commerce solutions.

Although the initial venture with Umbro was for e-commerce solutions we have been able to demonstrate our diversity as a developer by supplying the provision of a number of key developments including systems audit consultancy and bespoke eCRM and community applications.

World's End Productions

World's End is an independent TV and multimedia production company with a unique mix of experience and talents to provide entertaining and informative content across all media platforms.

World's End has a track record for producing quality TV including the Johnny Vaughan Film Show, Our Toon and many others.

In addition, World's End produces corporate content for blue chip clients as well as DVDs and videos for the retail market.

The success of World's End had placed significant strain on the company's internal systems infrastructure. IDIL was asked to review the existing systems, assess the future needs of the company, in consultation with management, and match the commercial and technical requirements of the company to an upgraded systems infrastructure. Following the agreement of the proposal, IDIL implemented the upgrade in the company's systems, completing the work in December 2001.
