CDRD (Compact Disk Rights Detector)
With the need to promote each new release and with the increasing growth of CD's, enhanced CD's and DVD's, CDRD is the new and effective way to reach and reward the owners of our clients products, both current and past catalogue releases.
What is it?
CDRD is a platform that provides a secure system in which to validate the presence of purchased CD’s in a users CD drive. The CD then acts as a passkey to online services, products, content and promotions.
A further version of this technology is now available for DVD's and the company is discussing the promotional campaign requirements of several film companies.
How does it work?
The system is made out of two components, a CDRD plug-in that is downloaded to the users machine and a CDRD server that acts as a gateway to the secure content.
The IDIL CDRD plug-in is downloaded to the users machine via an initial webpage that can exist on any internet location. The plug-in extends the capability of the browser by reading the CD drive, taking a fingerprint of the users CD and sending it securely to our server. It interacts with our database on the server that stores an algorithm of each CD and matches the fingerprints of the disc. The CDRD server then acts as a gateway and sends the users to the location of the content.

CDRD walkthrough
- The user is presented with an initial webpage where they have the option to download a plug-in (with a security certificate) to view an area containing services, products, content or promotions.
- A fast loading plug-in is automatically downloaded to the users machine.
- The user is prompted to insert a requested CD into their CD drive.
- The plug-in reads the CD, takes a fingerprint and sends it to the server.
- The server checks the CD fingerprint against the Database of fingerprints stored on a secure server.
- If the authentication is successful the client browser is directed to the content.
- If the authentication is unsuccessful then the user is presented with a message informing them of its failure and prompts to either try again or log off.

CDRD Client") enables this application to do online disc identification and
may obtain music-related information, including name, artist, track, and
title information ("IDIL Systems Data") from online servers ("IDIL Systems
CDRD Servers") and to perform other functions. If available, you may use
IDIL Systems Data only by means of the intended End User functions of this
application software.
You agree that you will use any IDIL Systems Data, the IDIL Systems CDRD
Client, and IDIL Systems CDRD Servers for your own personal non-commercial
use only. You agree not to assign, copy, transfer or transmit the IDIL
Systems CDRD Client or any IDIL Systems Data to any third party. YOU AGREE
NOT TO USE OR EXPLOIT ANY IDIL SYSTEMS DATA, THE IDIL SYSTEMS CDRD CLIENT,
OR IDIL SYSTEMS CDRD SERVERS, EXCEPT AS EXPRESSLY PERMITTED HEREIN.
You agree that your non-exclusive license to use any IDIL Systems Data, the
IDIL Systems CDRD Client, and IDIL Systems CDRD Servers will terminate if
you violate these restrictions. If your license terminates, you agree to
cease any and all use of the IDIL Systems Data, the IDIL Systems CDRD
Client, and IDIL Systems CDRD Servers. IDIL Systems reserves all rights in
IDIL Systems Data, the IDIL Systems CDRD Client, and the IDIL Systems CDRD
Servers, including all ownership rights. You agree that IDIL Systems may
enforce its rights under this Agreement against you directly in its own
name.
The IDIL Systems CDRD Client and each item of IDIL Systems Data, if
available, are licensed to you "AS IS." IDIL Systems makes no
representations or warranties, express or implied, regarding the accuracy of
any IDIL Systems Data from in the IDIL Systems CDRD Servers. IDIL Systems
reserves the right to delete data from the IDIL Systems CDRD Servers or to
change data categories for any cause that IDIL Systems deems sufficient. No
warranty is made that the IDIL Systems CDRD Client or IDIL Systems CDRD
Servers are error-free or that functioning of IDIL Systems CDRD Client or
IDIL Systems CDRD Servers will be uninterrupted. IDIL Systems is not
obligated to provide you with any new enhanced or additional data types or
categories that IDIL Systems may choose to provide in the future and is free
to discontinue its online services at any time.
IDIL SYSTEMS DISCLAIMS ALL WARRANTIES EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING, BUT NOT
LIMITED TO, IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR
PURPOSE, TITLE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. IDIL Systems does not warrant the
results that will be obtained by your use of the IDIL Systems CDRD Client or
any IDIL Systems CDRD Server. IN NO CASE WILL IDIL SYSTEMS OR ITS CLIENTS BE
LIABLE FOR ANY CONSEQUENTIAL OR INCIDENTAL DAMAGES OR FOR ANY LOST PROFITS
OR LOST REVENUES.
